So Important

You’ve heard it before but I’m afraid I’m going to bang on about it again – breakfast is the most important meal of the day!

High Protein Breakfast Ideas For Weight Loss By trying out a few high protein breakfast ideas for weight loss you will find that you will feel a lot fuller throughout the duration of the day.

It has been proved that timing is indeed ‘everything’. A high protein breakfast will fill you up a lot more than a high protein lunch – period! Below we have a few options for your high protein breakfast but first we’ve included a short video on the subject which you may enjoy.

It’s presented by a rather impressive doctor that doesn’t hold back on slating American eating habits – he has a lot of interesting things to say……..

Dairy Food Options

The foods you finally settle on for your breakfast meals will in turn effect the food choices you make for the rest of the day. So it stands to reason that if you tuck into a high protein breakfast choice you will stand a better chance at weight loss throughout the day!

High protein foods encourage the body to use energy to convert protein to carbohydrates – a very handy process!

Your high protein dairy choices are as follows:

  • Eggs
  • Those healthy, low fat yogurts
  • Red topped skimmed milk
  • Cheese

My personal favorite is cheese on toast ( with a thin layer of Marmite ) but each to their own at the end of the day! These foods also provide you with high levels of calcium which again is very effective for weight loss.

Meat Options

So you’ve got your choice of dairy products to choose from – what about a little protein from meat? All high protein breakfast ideas for weight loss should contain a little meat – high protein meats will give you essential omega-3 fatty acids ( among other things! )

sausage proteinIf you are into omelettes then this should be pretty easy for you! With omelettes you are free to pick and choose what ingredients go into your breakfast – you can test new things out easily!

Try adding a little salmon, lean sausage or bacon to your omelette – see which one fits you the best!

These options will help you sustain satiety for a longer period of time and make the rest of your daily choices much healthier options!

So How Does This Protein Work?

Protein is made up of various amino acids – now if you listened in school you will remember what these are right?

Don’t worry – I didn’t either :). Amino acids give us the building blocks for every living cell in our body……pretty important right?

Protein also gives us insulin and the hormone glucagon – both of which allow the body to change fat into energy! At the same time it also lowers the amount of cholesterol that your body is creating.

Is Breakfast Really That Important?

Yes I’m afraid it is! I meet so many people who decide to skip meals in an attempt ot lose weight. This is all wrong from the start but if you are going to go down this avenue make sure you are not skipping breakfast.

Missing breakfast will slow down your productivity and it will not come back at any point during the day! The glucose we receive in our breakfast is used by our brain to solve daily problems.

You also want to keep your metabolism moving correctly and the only way to do this is to eat breakfast. Eat a good breakfast then eat at the correct times throughout the day – you will see a huge reduction in the amount of snacking you feel you need!
