Now research shows that most of us are nowhere near hitting those levels of consumption. Anyone up For a Smoothie?

This method was introduced to me about six months back and I absolutely love it! It even works a treat on my eight year old son ( mind you if he saw what I was putting in there he might take a different view! ).

By creating a smoothie out of the best green leafy vegetables you are putting a different idea into people’s minds – it’s kind of subliminal really! Nobody wants to sit down and tuck into a plate full of sparse and plain vegetable and salad ingredients. They may however, fancy trying out a new and interesting smoothie!

Below are a list of the best green leafy vegetables to construct your smoothie out of:

  • Baby SpinachDark leafy green leaves
  • A nice portion of Kale
  • Swiss Chard
  • Collard greens
  • Dandelion greens
  • Turnip greens
  • Bok Choy ( if it is available! )
  • Simple, cheap parsley
  • Romaine lettuce
  • Everyday Green and red leaf lettuce

I usually allow my son to eat some sweet fruit or chocolate when he drinks his smoothie ( not to much of each though! ). It’s really up to you how you consume the smoothie – it’s a bit of trial and error but I happen to think it goes with just about any meal you choose!

So there’s no excuse now! The best green leafy vegetables can be enjoyed at any time of the day ( or night ) with this healthy eating alternative!
